Re: AG#114 - Magnum IPA
I'm very interested in this as I have always taken magnum to be a bittering hop with no flavour/aroma potential and I use it as such.
However, I recently found a bottle of mikkeller magnum single hop.

Re: AG#114 - Magnum IPA
I've been toying with trying Magnum for late additions as even though they're often said to be no good for flavour or aroma I do find they have a very pleasant floral/fruity aroma when opening a fresh bag.
I use them a lot for bittering so I'll certainly be keeping an eye on this threaderoony.

Very interesting. I've used Magnum lately a lot for bittering and it seems like the most neutral bittering ever. This might be your first ever bland beer!

just 3 photos added today...
Could well be very bland, might make for a good commercial beer

Re: AG#114 - Magnum IPA
kinda been thinking about something similar since i found sierra nevada use magnum late and dry in their torpedo. i reckon that beers got a pretty unique flavour compared to most american ipas, so maybe there's something in it..
be cool to hear how this goes

Re: AG#114 - Magnum IPA
Disregard my prior post. I never realised how young it was until I found a brewday that I posted on the same weekend!!

Re: AG#114 - Magnum IPA
Bottled it at the weekend, it tasted a bit dull, as far as the dry hop went it was lightly grassy and not much else.
probably more of a hop to blend with others in the dry hop.

Re: AG#114 - Magnum IPA
Magnum is regarded as a bittering hop so perhaps this confirms that
Cheers and gone,
