BIAB # 15 - Brambling X Pale Ale
BIAB # 15 - Brambling X Pale Ale
As the workers finished early today and I had the day off I decided to get a brew on the go. Bought these hops with my latest Malt Miller order specifically to brew this single hop ale so lets see how it goes.
Mid way through the boil in a very uneventful brew day so far - no pictures I am afraid.
On track to be my quickest brew to date having started around 1pm.
OG is below Brewmates expectations but I fancied this as a quaffable summer brew so somewhere between 4% - 4.5%

Just out of interest to end up with 23l of beer what did you start off with in your boil pan?
Re: BIAB # 15 - Brambling X Pale Ale
I ended up with just shy of 24L with a 34L strike water, no sparge but left the grain bag tondrain over a SS colindar which gave me the extra 1L I think
Do you BIAB?

Re: BIAB # 15 - Brambling X Pale Ale
not many of these left now, going down a treat.
Didnt dry hop in the end up, wish I had though - certainly something to think about for next time.

Re: BIAB # 15 - Brambling X Pale Ale
Isn't that far too many hops? I was thinking you might use around 50/60g so I was surprised it was over 200g! Are the beers really blackcurranty?
Never enough time...
Re: BIAB # 15 - Brambling X Pale Ale
I didn't dry hop in the end up. So take 70g off the total.
I wish I had though, the beer lacks a bit of hop flavour - but is still a nice beer.
Blackcurrant flavour does come through well.
