This was meant to be a rebrew (is there such a word?) of my 16th all grain beer. The original was (is) one of my favourite brews. I made some small tweaks to the hop schedule due to differing AA values plus I added a little extra in the shape of some steeped Mosaic hops at the end. These had already been used for dry hopping my last brew before bagging and freezing. Looking for a little extra fruitiness from them.
A few firsts today as well as I have some new equipment since my last brewday. A new 50 litre pot (from Brewbuilder) with 3Kw element and 12" hop stopper. A refractometer and Ph meter. I am also using WY1469 yeast for the first time.
Also first time using Castle Chateau Pale Malt from the Homebrew Company.
Pre-boil gravity seemed a bit low at 1.029 and with only a 60 minute boil planned it would require a fair bit of evaporation from the new set up to reach predicted OG of 1.041.
Anyhow I ended up with 26 litres at 1.036 so perhaps a 90 minute boil would have got me nearer to 23 litres @ 1.041. Unfortunately I just didn't have the time to do it.
It will hopefully be a nice sessionable bitter though.

Checked the brewfridge this morning to find the yeast spewing out of the FV. Quick cleanup and a skim to top crop some for next brew.
