Jims Wee Bee - Hop Schedule ?

Post by liamtmt7 » Sat Mar 05, 2016 8:34 am

Guys any help with the hop schedule on this none?

Brewmate is indicating the bitterness is way off for the style (American Brown Ale ?)

I have 35G boil @ start
25g @ 20mins
40g steep at flameout

to get within style, it looks more like

15G boil @ start
30g @ 20mins
55g steep at flameout

Brewtarget also has it as "way hoppy" but I'll trust Normski/Wobbly/Jim/Eric over a bit of software.

Remember mine is half batch size but I upscaled my additions to account to the lower AA profile of my hops @ 13% instead of Norms 14% originals

Wee Bee is not an Americam Brown Ale.
Feel free to change the hops as you see fit.

Cheers Nomski, that's the style on Malt Miller, how would you class it?

Thats a tricky one. Uk Base Malt & Belgian Speciality Malt, Usa Hops. Yeast what ever ya use. I use Uk yeast.
I don’t know what category that makes it.
Someone did describe it as a Modern British Ale, I quite like that.
But as its really derived from Arrogant Bastard and that is an American strong ale. Im not sure

It defies categorisation. :=P

I would just call it a dark ale.
