Spitfire brewday 9-23-07
If you like pictures I'm sorry, you can stop reading now.
Brewed up 10 gallons of a Spitfire clone that I think I got from here.
13 lbs 12.6 oz Maris Otter
1 lbs 7.5 oz Crystal Malt - 40L
1 lbs 7.5 oz Wheat, Torrified
14.7 oz Amber Malt
11.7 oz Wheat Malt, Ger
2 oz Target [10.00 %] (60 min)
1.6 oz Goldings, East Kent [5.50 %] (60 min)
0.4 oz Goldings, East Kent [5.50 %] (15 min)
BIG day of activity started at 9AM with the mash water and grain crushing
Remembered to put in the 5.2 Stabilizer!!
Beautiful runoff, sweet all the way to 13 gallons
Cleaned two kegs, racked 10 gallons of Mt. Hood pale into kegs
Yada, yada, yada...
Siphoned off wort onto yeast cakes of two fermenters one with Nottingham, one with S-04
Great day 4.5 hours from start to finish.

Good work. Wish I could get my brewday down to such a short time(!) I currently average around 6-7hrs

drinking: ~ | conditioning: ~ | primary: ~ | Looks like I need to get brewing then...

Even better would be an audio recording, two fermenters bubbling away is real music.DaaB wrote:

Sorry for the lack of pics, the camera was elsewhere.
I think the speed is due to 60 minute mash and boils. But like I've said before, timing with the sparge water is key.
