Brew day. 3-way split

Post by duncans » Sun Mar 27, 2016 1:10 am

Was hoping to build a deck and dig some more garden up today but crappy weather meant I had some spare time to brew :)

Digging around in back of hop drawer instead I found a couple of packs of British hops I have never tried. Add some fuggles too, had enough for 1 mash split between 3 boils with a diferent hop each and into 3 demijohns.
Should have enough for a uk Golding's 3way split in future too (east kent, worcester and whitbread goldings). See what the difference is.

Brew length: 12l. ABV 4.4%

Grains: lager malt, 2.4kg, 100%
Mash: 60 minutes at 67C, mash out 78C.
Boil 1: Sovereign 5.5%, 7g at 60 min, 3g at 10 min.
Boil 2: Fuggles 4.5%, 10g at 60 min, 3g at 10 min.
Boil 3: Boadicea 7.8%, 5g at 60 min, 4g at 10 min.

Cooling from boil overnight, will ferment with danstar nottingham probably and dry hop in a week or so.
