Had a badish one..

Hi all,

so bit of an off brewday today.
Decided to do a Pilsner and wanted to bottle and keg my IPA that had been sitting with some finings for a week.
Problem 1: Brew on and all's well until I get to sparge 2. Thought I had a stuck mash but after stirring it was that the bazooka had come off! Decant, reconnect and then out came the wort. Bit cloudy than expected but should be OK.

So during the boil I wanted to bottle up my IPA to free up the fridge...

Problem 2: had put my IPA into my bottling bucket as it has a tap and left for a week in a fridge with the finings in - when I looked seemed that the tap was leaking into the bottom of the fridge! So lost a bit of beer - OK. I planned 12 bottle and rest in to a cornie (down to about 15 lts for that now).

Problem 3: connected my bottle stick (on a length of tube) and opened the tap - first bottle ok but the stick wasn't working and was flowing all the time - no problem that will work great when I get to the cornie. Bottle 11 starts working!

Problem 4: so boiler decides it doesn't want to boil - this is the middle of the bottling. A scrape with the spoon and starts up again.

So ended up having to hold the bottling stick into the cornie and switching between scraping the boiling wort - multi tasking - just don't bother!

Didn't chill it so in a cube to cool over night and will pitch with lager yeast tomorrow morning.

Still tried my Rye beer tonight and it was great - that was another stuck mash - so looking forward to the Pilsner.
