Black Gold

Post by alexlark » Sun Jul 10, 2016 3:11 pm

Had a brew day today. Used the Pilgrim hops from Stevie

Was going to brew a simple pale ale but went for something a bit darker. Named the brew Black Gold; as some might refer to Rhondda Valleys coal :)

21L
OG 1.050

I steeped the black malt in 1L of cold water for 24hrs then added to the boil at the last 10 mins. Mainly for colour but hoping to get a bit of roast coming through. The steeped liquid smelt lovely.
