Brewday: Cascade APA

Post by injac » Mon Sep 12, 2016 9:33 am

Not reported on a brewday in a while.

Yesterday was an interesting one - loosely based on Saltaire's Cascade Pale ale this was my first time using water treatment. The only 'error' was my OG was way off. Expected 1.046 but came out at 1.056. However so many variables and trial of new methods on this brew difficult to pin down the cause of it. Will monitor on next brew day.

Variables:
First ever water treatment
Used Golden Promise for first time
Dunk Sparge for the first time
70 minute mash turned into 120 minute!
