Yeah H&G turned up trumps (cheers guys) grain sack just arrived so I have slapped on the HLT and brewday here we go!
Think I'll do a Wherry clone 20l
3.3kg Maris
0.35kg crystal
90min @68 like it malty
30g fuggles 90
20g goldings 15
20g stryian 15
might pop in a dry hop as well
now where's me camera?
quick question if I think a bit of old grain has gone slack just dump it or mix in in adjunct preportions?

Is it worth it? It takes you hours to make an all grain beer. Why use inferior ingredients just to save a couple of quid?

steve, if it's gone slack all it's lost are it's diastatic qualities so prsumably

if everything else is ok with it then he'd be ok if he keeps to his adjunct proportions? assuming he's kept it cool and dry and all the good stuff no signs of anything dodgy otherwise, agreed no need to take chances.

I'd just dump it and use the fresh stuff, but if it has gone slack you maybe need to look into how you are storing the grain to prevent it happening again.
Good luck with the wherry, how close is it to the woodfordes wherry?

Boil on 26l at 32 so looking good for 20l at 40 efficency at 75%
used the fresh grain it would have been rude not to
