Interesting recipe. I’ve never heard of coconut in beer. When do you add that to the boil? Or is it at 0 mins?

I was very nervous about using it but did a bounty bar beer (chocolate vanilla porter) with 600g in dry hop for 4 days. It made amazing addition and allowed no trub into cornie, the muslin bag there on the siphon was because I wasn’t sure what was going to happen as it was floating initially. I will say unlike the vanilla I didn’t wash it in a vodka carrier but it was a week from corny to consumption so I took a chance.

Every time I see grainfather threads I think 'gluten free'. lol

I also have doubts about coconut in beer, but I'm pretty conservative when it comes to recipes. I'll be interested to find out how it tastes when finished.

It’s homebrew toms recipe, I have brewed this before and it was great, definitely darker than last time though

Me too, honey is about as adventurous as I get with additions in beer, but I do like dark Bounty's to be fair....

Interested to follow this thread and also good to see a new Brewday post on here, get fed up of reading my own posts

Kev, can you post up the bounty bar porter please? I might make it for an Xmas brew.

Cheers

Yeast is US05

There is 60g of crushed coffee beans added through a hop basket, a hop bag would do, this is done at 90-93 degrees and for 90secs exposure before whipping it out.

There are two kinds of chocolate malt, Pale and Regular.
I dry hopped the 600g of toasted coconut chips for 3 days (do it to personal taste) more or longer for stronger profile
