AG#36 - German Mild

I had some odd bits of malt left, so decided to chuck them in to a bit of a user upper beer.

The plan was to ferment with Safale K-97, but after asking a few questions about it, I decided that it sounded a bit labour intensive for what I wanted for this brew, so after a semi-stuck mash and a low efficiency, I thought that I would give some Mangrove Jacks Empire Ale yeast a try and call this a German Mild.

I'm loving the CFC that came with my Grainfather, especially now that the ground water is nice and cold, and it still amazes me with it's instant cooling of the hot wort 8)

Considering that I had a very slow mash recirculation and a stuck sparge that required a bit of digging around with a mash paddle, the wort that went into the FV was pretty clear and smelt lovely. I rehydrated the yeast and fermentation was well underway within 24 hours and it is currently very vigorous.

Considering this is a totally cobbled together brew, I'm quite looking forward to sampling the end product :beer:

Like the idea! Nobles taste great in english beers too.

This brew turned out really nice, could of done with slightly more bitterness for me, but certainly an interesting easy drinker.
