John Bull Maris Otter LME

Anyone using this yet? I noticed its available in 25kg at H&G. I've been using Brupaks 15kg light but was tempted to get this bigger, better-value Maris Otter type until shipping costs changed my mind. Still, I'm awfully tempted. Any thoughts, comments, ect on it much appreciated (especially in comparison to Brupaks).

Ditto

Just done a similar ESB with a tin and initial tastings are very promising. There's a big cost differential tho between individual tins and 15/25K buckets and so worth the bulk carriage. I've been using Paines Maris Otter bulk LME and it seems equally as good, got a vague feeling it might even be the same stuff.

Yeah, H&G ships up to 30kg to Ireland for £18. 31kg means you pay £36 so this time I had too much other stuff in the order. The Brupaks pale 15kg is a nice size and is quality malt. One reason for being wary of the 25kg pail is using it up fast enough (I try to use it within 3 months). So again, I've been quite satisfied with Brupaks 15kg even though its the same cost as the John Bull 25kg pail.

That said, it would be interesting to compare and contrast the same recipes with the different malts. I may have to give it a go for my next order.
