I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I forgot a critical hop addition in my latest batch of Marzen. My recipe calculator has it at 10IBU instead of 24IBUs. They're all bottled at this stage.
Any chance a drop of hop extract in the pint might make these a bit less sweet? Maybe I should pretend they're wheat beers and add some lemon. Ever happen to you? What did u do?
IBUs off - hop extract to the rescue?
Have you tasted it yet? All hop calculators are different and it may not be as bad as you think.
My first all-grain lager (also a Marzen) I realised i'd undercalculated IBUs by boiling the hops for 60minutes instead of the 90 in the recipe. It still turned out great.
With lagers, the higher carbonation and lower temperature will tend to hide any sweetness.
If it does turn out too sweet, you could just try adding a drop to your pint as you're drinking it.
