I wasn't quite sure where to post this one but as I intend to try this after I've plunged into the extract world (in two or three months time)I thought I'd ask it here.
I was reading about hops and their properties last night and it got me to thinking. One thing I'd like to do is make a beer that my wife will like. She only drinks alcopops and cocktails alcohol wise but she is completely addicted to tea (about twenty cups a day) and tea is bitter with antisceptic and preservative qualities and hops are bitter with antisceptic and preservative qualities. So could tea be used instead of hops to make a novel beer that the wife would enjoy?
Has anybody tried this?
Please feel free to put me against a wall and have me shot if this is a totally disgusting idea. I can't stand tea and the only thing that my otherwise wonderful wife does that really annoys me is to leave her used teabags all round the kitchen sink. Yak! (which is probably what she thinks about my beer)
Thanks

It's probably much better than the tea I make her!
Andy, is that disgust or fit to burst laughter I see in your emoticon?

I take it that means it's not been tried here?

I mentioned it to my wife this morning she made a face exactly like the puke face.
I might still give it a go though just to see!

That reminds me... did we ever hear what happened to Doug and his orange Slurry surprise?
