Why not take a recipe you already like and substitute the hops you would normally use. Never used perle hops though they are popular in pilsner style beers. I could be corrected on this but I'm sure they'd be ok in an ale. Experimentation is half the fun

Perle are a quite good bittering hop, alot more bitter than AA would suggest.
Just do a pale beer with Perle bittering, a mix of perle and EKG at 15-10 mins.

I think Perle was bred from Northern Brewer, so anywhere you'd use those would work well: Lager, Pilsner, Weizen, Ale, Alt, Kölsch, Munich Helles, Pale Ale, Porter, Stout
(Looking at that list from my database it seems to cover everything LOL, maybe just replace them in your normal brew as Fuggled Mind suggested)

I recently found this website:

Seems pretty helpful.

Thanks all - in the end I went for an alt summery ale (I hope) with perle as the bittering hop and somme EKG to finish. First taste test tonight, a little early but what the hell...
