Why the tea towel?

Post by juuunx2 » Sun Apr 08, 2012 11:00 am

Good morning all

I have finished my first extract recipe. The instructions say to leave a clean tea towel between the lid. Can anyone explain why this is please as I am curious. Is it because it creates a lot of co2? That would explain why my coopers stout keeps blowing the lid of my FV!

Sounds like an alternative to an airlock or blow off tube.
Ingredients: Water, Barley, Hops, Yeast, Seaweed, Blood, Sweat, The swim bladder of a sturgeon, My enemies tears, Scenes of mild peril, An otter's handbag and Riboflavin.
