Folks am thinking of knocking this up as my first extract brew to 40 pints, ten litre boil. Just messing with ingredients this time round would anyone care to comment as to possible outcome/ beer style?

Hello
I don't know if I should say welcome to extract brewing as it sounds a bit naff. Anyway, nice to see you're giving it a go.
The recipe looks pretty sound for first brew. I would change a couple of things, though. I'm not sure if the lager malt's worth putting in. You've got a nice bit of Carapils which will give your brew a bit of body.
I'd get shot of the lager malt. You'll perhaps need to be a bit careful about temperatures and times and such like. Steeping grains like Carapils is relatively straight forward (I just sling them in for half an hour as the water's heating up) but lager malt is quite different. It might not add much to the beer, either, as you've already got what you need in the extract and you're only using 140g.
The extract and the Carapils sould give you a good result.
I can't help on the hops, I'm afraid. I've never used any of them. There's much debate what hops work well with others and also about 30min additions. On my first brews I wanted to get as much variety and as many hops in as I could and ended up with a bit of a mess. I didn't realise that I could do it all over again a couple of weeks later!
What's the IBU? I'd go for something between 30 and 35. Maybe even 39 if you like your beer bitter.
I haven't a clue what style it might be. A summer ale? Again, there's so much debate about it I've given up trying.

Re: ist extract brew comments welcome
thanks for kind reply davey . I have since modded the recipe a little to take out the lager malt. I will use it in a future brew. Also for some unknown reason couldnt get the hops of choice so will now go with northdown(kettle) and liberty as a late hop. I dont want to use any really unusual additions cos theres no way of anticipating taste, which is why I havent done extract before. But I reckon its worth a go . Cheers Tim
