Can it be done in a tiny pan

Post by sbond10 » Mon Aug 20, 2012 4:15 pm

After seeing this recipe
http://www.coopers.com.au/the-brewers-g ... on's-light

It got me wondering can I brew in a 6 litre pan and get away with it by following the above recipe just altering hops to get different tastes and maybe brew to 18 litres to boost the abv

My first few brews were done in pans of that size. From memory, I used to add it to the fermenter along with ice. The ice was basically 3 or 4 frozen bottles of water. I'd cut the plastic off and chuck in the ice blocks. Then I'd fill it with water.

Yep, you could reduce to 18L or just add more extract? Also (sorry if you know this already) don't boil the crystal malt. ;-)

Yea I'd follow the instructions ( can't remberif it said to boil them) but I'd just steep um. Plus your only make 5 litres of wort then adding 1kg of spray malt later on after the boil
