Floaters

Post by swanjack » Mon Oct 22, 2012 5:47 pm

I recently bottled a wai-iti single hop extract kit and noticed some pinhead sized floaters. A few days befpre bottling I used Beer Finings. I thought that these would drop out but after almost a week at 22C, they have congregated at the neck

Does anyone know what they are, and will they fall to the bottom once I've moved them in the next few days to the garage, which is much colder?

Funnily enough I just bottled a couple of extract single hop beers and both had something similar. They looked like little clumps of yeast and I couldn't be arsed to try to filter them out so I am hoping mine sink rather than float in the bottles.. [-o<

I thought they might be yeast too, if they keep floating I'll pour through a tea strainer !!!!

Update - moved them in to the garage yesterday and they've dropped to the bottom.
