I mentioned to my Dad that I was thinking of moving on from kit brewing to extract

He seemed fairly interested

I then mentioned that I'd found a recipe to make Hobgoblin (his favourite beer) but that I was going to have to build a boiler, as the pre made ones were a bit pricey for my pocket

Five minutes later, his wallet was out and a boiler had been ordered from hop&grape


Needless to say, there was a non-too-subtle suggestion that I'd have to provide him with a non-stoop supply of Hobgoblin lol

Sadly, I've made a slight error in my ordering of ingredients and I've got the stuff for "all-grain" so now I've got to get a grain bag lol

Looks like it'll be a slight leap from kit to all grain, then back to extract for the next one

Good deal.
My dad died when I was 15, 4 years after my folks split up and my mom took me and my brother across the country. I really would've loved to have had a beer with him.

My choice is BIAB or build a mash tun out of a cool box, but I think BIAB is the way to go

I've got to get my head round how much water to use at each stage lol
