Hi Pinto
Nice link m8! Their mesh lets you use a finer gauge in a mash tun, and a coarser one for a hop filter. I think you'd need 2 hose clips - the far end secured to a short piece of pipe attached to a stop end. That way, you could use the right diameter pipe as a 'former' to roll it round. But, as you say, it may fit the stop end directly. I hope you'll do a post and let us know your mileage when you've made it.
Cheers, Chris

Chris, thanks again for the extra info.
Pinto, what size mesh were you thinking of for a loose leaf hop filter and what size for a hop pellet filter?

at just £2.49 a shot, I was thinking about getting a sheet of 4, 10 and 20, although being a complete newbie to extract i've not got a lot of experience of particle size when it comes to hops - im certain the 4 would be ok for loose leaf hops (@ 4mm2 holes approx) but you can always step down.
I feel that going below a 20 (1mm2) you run the risk of a blocked drain-off quite easily

Re: Metal Pan for Electric hob
I revised the hop filter in my boiler today, as posted previously, with a 'T' connector, and the longer mesh from a 500mm tap connector in a loop. Did a dummy run (I can hardly call it a dry run, can I!) with some malt extract and a handful of hops to simulate a brew day boil, and it drained a treat
Shame to see all that wort running down the plughole, though!!
If going down the sheet mesh filter route, I wouldn't go too coarse. There will still be particles from hops - broken leaves, lala, and, at some future point, you may want to boil adjuncts like crystal malt, which will produce lots of particles. (I might be a newbie to AG brewing now, but I did extract brewing over 10 years throughout the 80's). I'd appreciate a posting of any info on the mesh hop filter if anyone goes that route. I'm happy with my tap connector filters for now, but for future upgrades, who knows...
Gawk, I've used the Vinod boiler twice now, once with, and once without the tap/valve. PM me if you're going that way, as my mileage could save you some grief.
Cheers, Chris
