Some Hops????
Hi all
Just been reading through Graham's book again in preperation for my 1st proper extract brew. I've noticed that there are a few recipies that call for "some hops" in the last 10 mins of the boil. Most of the recipies actually name the hop variety required. Anyone know why some formulations aren't specific?
Cheers Tom

I know. That confuses me too to the point where I turn the page.
Perhaps Graham himself can answer?

I know it's not an issue for the Bank's bitter that I'm planning to do this week but I'd like to get things "right" for future brews if you know what I mean? I know that some hops are better suited for late hopping than others tho.

Re: Some Hops????
this has come up before.
Graham did post the corrections.
maybe search back through the older messages from approx Sept time last year.
or PM him?
if you dont get any joy, I'll transcribe the corrections from my book I annotated if you dont find out another way.

I think 'some hops' should be East Kent Goldings, if I remember correctly.soupdragon wrote:I've searched his posts as best I can but didn't find anything so I've PM'd him.

The penny has dropped with your beer engine too. Now I've have a bit more understanding of the gentle art it's proving really useful. Thanks for all the effort you've put in to both the book and the software, It's helped me a LOT
