Old perculier

Hi guys
I,ve got the book Brew beers like those you buy (Dave Lines) and want to brew the old peculier recipe. I've got a 15 ltr stockpot so can i just split the ingredients
and boil the recipe in 2 batches to end up with 23ltr in fv.

Absolutely!
Alternatively, you could boil a more concentrated wort and then top it up with water in the fv ... however, you'll need to increase the amount of hops you put in to compensate (if you fancy that, somebody on here could tell you by how much I'm sure)

FV: -
Conditioning: AG34 Randy's Three Nipple Tripel 9.2%, AG39 APA for a mate's wedding
On bottle: AG32 Homegrown Northdown ESB, AG33 Homegrown Cascade Best
On tap: -
Garden: 2x cascade, 2x Farnham whitebine (mathon), 2x northdown, 1x first gold

Did this recipe recently, but substituted the dark LME with a tin of John Bull London Porter (had a few tins and hops kicking about that I wanted to use up) and reduced the amount of hops a little in the boil to take into account the extract was already hopped.

Anyway the resulting beer tastes fantastic, definitely tastes like OP even if my version was more of a kit mod than an extract brew proper, so I expect the recipe done with malt extract will be even better.

Seem to recall that as well as the hop additions the amount of fermentables added in Dave Line's recipes needs bumping up by a certain amount, can't tell you how much but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable about Line's extract recipes with be along to help out

If the hobgoblin recipie is the same in the sticky thread on here then it's a really good one. Mine's been in the barrel a few weeks and am just starting to sup it.

Enjoy!
