Tastes Sweet.

Post by spudbasher » Sun Mar 13, 2011 11:23 pm

First off sorry for posting in the wrong place ,just realised .
Hi all. I made a Hambledon Bard old english ale kit ,but used a tin of treacle as well.
The ferment went ok ,I primed and bottled it ,and left it two weeks.
I just cracked open my first bottle (this is my first hb since the 80,s) and ,while tasting pleasant enough, a nice hoppy bite , clear good head retention, sticks to the side ,its definitely sweet.
Am I being to impatient .Should I keep it warm and let it get on with it ?
cheers Spud.

It's probably the treacle leaving a sweet taste, but it wouldn't do any harm to leave it to mellow out.
