Extract Recipes

Post by Morse » Thu Apr 05, 2007 6:35 am

If you fancy trying something else, raise a thread in the recipe section and i'll find some others, I have several good looking extract recipes kicking around somewhere, hopefully other members will have some recipes to share too.
:D Here's the start of the thread then.
If anyone has any extract recipes they would like to share so I can move away from kits I would be more than happy to give them a go  well maybe not all of them

Cheers, Morse.

I'm an extract brewer (all-grain not logistically viable) and have my brew log and recipes here:

I'm quite proud of the marzen and belgian ales

I reduced the OG to 1048 and after five days it is down to 1020 I have transfered it to a closed bucket now I was just wondering if the gravity is likely to reduce anymore :?:

Thanks Daab,

I'll see how it goes, what strength do you think I will end up with? I have calculated it to be arounf 3.5%
Also how long could I have left it in the original bucket?

Hi. Which malt extract should I use for Clive of India - pale, amber or dark (at a guess, I'd say light or amber)?

Pale Ale is so called because it uses pale malt so use the palest extract you can get.
Best wishes

Morse,

How did you reduce the OG to 1048?
I'm guessing by missing out 1 tin of LME ?

How did the beer ferment in the end ? despite the problems you had?
