Does lactose milk sugar affect the FG of a sweet stout, mine seems to have stuck at 1.020 or should i leave it a little longer, been in the FV for 8 days now.

Yeast will not ferment lactose, I guess thats why it's called sweet

8 Days is not long in the fermenter anyway with most homebrewers going for10-14 days in the FV
