sorry.......batch size question

Post by Bradfordlad » Fri Sep 07, 2012 4:26 pm

When i use beer calculus or some such software do i give my batch size as the volume i am boiling or the boil volume + cold top up water?

eg

3 gallon (boil)

or 5 gallon (3g boil plus 2gal cold water top up in the FV)

If i put the incorrect figure in it will mess up my gravity reading no?

Cheers

Not too sure about this but batch size is what you want to end up with. e.g. usually 23 litres. Sorry you'll need to convert to gallons if thats your units.

The initial amount of liquor you need is what is used before the boil. e.g 34 litres pre -boil
