Hi
After some advice about my first extract brew which was a honey porter. Started 2 weeks ago and checked gravity wednesday and it was at 1026 and checked today and same again but i thought the gravity should be lower. Its been at 19 till wednesday when i turned up the temp to 21, but made no difference. Ive given it a stir to see if that hrlps any other tips or down the drain. I used nottingham yeast. And start gravity was about 1055 but temp was about 26.
Cheers steve

What extract did you use? I had that when I used only wheat extract. It ran out of fermentables so stopped fermenting. Does it taste alright?
Have you pitched any more yeast?

Properly wont go much lower due to the DME from Worchester hop shop. Seems to be a problem with it. See here - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=55979&start=30
You could add more fermentables to increase the gravity. 1.026 isn't the end of the world FG for a Russian imperial porter.
A wine yeast or champagne yeast may work but for a porter do not use dry beer enzyme, i just dont think it would taste right.
good luck!

I'd try more yeast tonight. It prob won't hurt if it doesn't do anything. By tomorrow, if it hasn't kicked off again, I'd see if it tasted OK and then keep it if it did.
Like Edd says, it isn't the end of the world. If it's not fantastic, drink it quicker. Or invite your mates round after closing time when noone can taste too well.
