Big Ol' Bottles of Malt

I see various retailers offering 25kg bottles (vats?!) of malt for around the 65 quid mark. This seems like a very cost effective way of buying malt, but I'm wondering how long one will last? Given the space I've got I can make around 1 brew a month and 25kg would stretch to about 8 brews.

Would an open bottle, kept in reasonable conditions last for 8 months?
