Sierra Nevada Pale Ale ish clone BIAB

Post by andyCo » Thu Oct 20, 2011 6:49 pm

Hi foks
Going to have a go at brewing thisbut I'm going to try and make it a tad less bitter for my girly taste buds
Going to leave the northen brewer/magnum hops out

My 3rd attempt at all grain

Grain
5.00Kg of marris Otter
0.45kg crystal malt
Hops
Perle 15g @ 60/90min
Cascade 30g @-10min
Cascade 30g @ flame out
Yeast
Saf us 05
pitch @ 20c
ferment @ 20c

OG 1.053
Fv 1.011

32l of water heated to to 68c for a 60-90 min mash
10 min mash out at 75c

Looking at getting 23l of wort in to the fv .

Any thoughts on this ... anything I've missed .. any tips from those who've brewed it before :D

Thanks in adavance

Andy

Haven't brewed it, but others that have usually have an issue with the Perle hops giving an odd taste. I can't remember whether they had a flavour addition.

I would replace it with the northern brewer to the same IBUs.

Heres the post I was on about.... yes Perle is a bittering hop only, although some seem to think it carries in to the finished beer.
