Hi all

been looking for a new boiler for biab. Carnt decide on

32ltr brupaks pot which i will put an element in about 72 quid

or

40ĺtr buffalo boiler for about 140 quid

i will be using it for biab only which i havnt done for a long time it feels. Would normally make ales around 5.5% max

which do you think would be the best option

I use a 40 l buffalo which worked great for the first 6 brews, then started cutting out. I've just bypassed the thermal switch and it's been perfect since, i wouldn't want anything smaller. Only worry is that replacement elements can't be found easily as they have stopped making them. Mine cost £89 on eBay, so I'd shop around a bit. If you get the buffalo let me know, I have loads of ceramic blocks left needed to bypass the thermal switch and I'm down the road in bradford.

Cheers mate ill let you know which one i go for. Any will be a step up from my old plastic boiler with elements in lol

just need to get back into it asap not brewed biab in a while so off on next demo at morley homebrew

Just an update

went and seen chris down at lhbs and i bought the brupaks 32ltr pot.

got a 40mm hole cutter kicking around somewhere so will put element in over weekend and just need to build a wort chiller

And am back up and running for biab
