voile/Muslim/net curtains from where ?
I've heard people using net curtains as there biab but from where and what type. Last time I looked for plain sheet voile I struggled to get width. Quick look on ebay shows I can get net curtains for 2.70 http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/311326541178
Is there a particular grade I need ?

I think auto-correct crept into your thread title.

2mx2m is OK. I use that for my 50/60L plastic boiler and it is easily enough

You bought 2 m by 2 m for a 19 litre pot Wales.... you planning on keeping it company too ?
Vacant what did you do with the lead weight ?

Re: voile/Muslim/net curtains from where ?
The first time I used it for a mash (in 2008), once I'd padded the curtain around the inside of the boiler and secured it around the rim with rope, I trimmed off all the excess bits of curtain hanging down over the edge. I never bothered sewing a bag. At the end of the mash I gather it up and hold in one hand, spin the "bag" and tie it.
Some people use a couple of bungees rather than rope.

So you just trimmed the weight s out as well
Re: voile/Muslim/net curtains from where ?
No weights in mine as far as I recall, but voile doesn't run or unravel so you can just cut it anyhow you please. The weights are only a tiny strip along the bottom.

I use a piece of voile to line my mash tun with, to make the clean up alot easier after the brew is done.
It is also alot easier to clean the voile if you don't make it into a bag and just leave it as a flat piece of material.

Yea ill get a flat curtain piece SWMBO just moaned as it's gonna cost s 6 quid for bit of fabric.... so I pointed out a custom bag is 25 notes and an ice box is over a hundred notes. I haven't had a response back yet
