I'm sure I saw it?
I'm sure I saw it?
I'm sure I saw a post in the biab thread that said how to use a 19ltr pot on a stove top and end up with a 23 ltr brew length in the fv. Have I imagined it or can someone please point me in the direction of it? Or explain it step by step to me?
Cheers

Re: I'm sure I saw it?
Here you go. A bit of refinement and 23L is possible:

There is this one half down the first page
viewtopic.php?f=35&t=67731
However I use this method
http://www.biabrewer.info/viewtopic.php ... 63050b171e
Which means I don't have to mess about with calculators but I do get a variable brew length. I have a 21l pot and can get brews from 23-27l from this. I don't go any higher as it won't fit in my FV.

Re: I'm sure I saw it?
No probs, I've done 3 BIAB brews with that 19L pot and it's great. I initially wanted to try all grain without spending too much money. The beer is so much better than kits and so I bought a 33L pot from Powell Brewing earlier in the year and I'm going to use it for the first time on Sunday. Same method from that thread just bigger pot.
Re: I'm sure I saw it?
So have you got a burner for the 33ltr pot as my hob couldn't handle a pot of that size

Re: I'm sure I saw it?
Im gonna use it on the wok burner on the hob which is rated at 3kw
It easily kept a rolling boil with the 19L, I even turned it down.

Re: I'm sure I saw it?
Just go electric Snipe. That is what I did! I got mine from MrLard (homebrewbuilder), very good build quality. Cost a bit, but worth it.
Re: I'm sure I saw it?
I probably will go electric when I go bigger, but just want to dip a toe at the min. And £38 can be justified to SWMBO

I'm sure I saw it?
Read this and inspired me to order myself a 19l pot. Going to make the jump from extract to BIAB

I'm glad my inane stupidity has aided someone on their brewing journey Sando
