SPRINKLER TAP

Post by wanus » Sat Sep 06, 2014 4:35 pm

Does anybody out there know iff a sprinkler tap will fit onto and benefit a wilkos standard pressure barell? I`ve only been brewing beer kits for over a year now and rely on the pressure of secondry fermentation only. Its just that sometimes towards the end(bottom)of a barell i would like to maintain better heads on my brews. My local brew shop has one online priced £16 and i was thinking of havin a ride over there to buy one

Yeah, I believe those Wilko barrels are similar to other budget barrels in that they don't have a nut on the back of the tap - the tap just screws into the hole.

Better quality replacement taps may require access to the inside of the barrel to tighten up the fixing nut, which of course you can't get because of the 2" hole at the top rather than 4" on more expensive pressure barrels.

You might find replacements that will fit the budget barrels, but I'm not sure who does them.
