its a common fault of regulators even those designated for the beer serving market, my 3 reg board has dials increasing in 2 psi increments with very fine grades on the dial, an easy solution is to ebay a 2nd gauge displaying upto 40-50psi max, and fit that inline with a T or Y after your regulator, just be sure NEVER to push out a higher pressure than the inline gauge can measure/cope with..
