Not fully filling a Pb

Post by Manngold » Sun Nov 09, 2014 1:08 pm

Hey all. I am sure I know that this will be time, but just wanted to check before I start. I am going to be bottling a 40 pint batch next week, but wanted to put 15 - 20 pints in a pressure barrel that is designed to hold 40. Is this ok? I don't have any CO2 injectors on the PB, and was ideally hoping to drink within 2 - 3 weeks of kegging. Does this sound ok? It is a Galaxy Delight from the Malt Miller if that helps?

Thanks

I doubt whether the beer would condition properly. Too much airspace.

i imagine you'd have to use a lot more priming sugar than normal to get a decent condition in it due to the airspace, as mentioned
dazzled, doused in gin..
