I've been considering starting a wee mini keg collection with an external tap as I'm sick of bottling but have a few questions for any mini keg users...
1. Plastic tap or party star deluxe?
2. Can you transport the keg (chilled) and pour a pint at the other end without glass full of foam or yeast?
3. Where did you buy yours? Fass-frisch direct or UK shop?
4. After starting a keg hope long does it last with CO²?
5. Can you buy the mini kegs without the built in taps as it is just another thing to sanitise
Mini kegs
Re: Mini kegs
I was gifted some minikegs a few weeks ago and will be putting some beer in them tonight so I'll try and remember to update this thread.
I bought a party deluxe tap from BrewUK and have just fitted it for the first time to a minikeg of Old Golden Hen I bought at Tesco, it was a bit foamy but settled down pretty quickly. I noticed that BrewUK also do a minikeg starter set (and individual minikegs) without the tap at the bottom.

How did it go?

Re: Mini kegs
Lidl currently have mini kegs with wheat beer or Fest bier in them for £11.99. Bargain when you consider an empty keg is £6.50
Re: Mini kegs
It does take a while to pour due to the foam but I figure it's an easy annoyance to put up with rather than using 10-12 bottles for the same amount of beer!
