Loss of pressure in keg
Loss of pressure in keg
I kegged my latest batch and then purged with co2. I checked the pressure every couple of days and have now found that there's no gas in there.. I don't think that there are any leaks. Could this loss in pressure be due to the beer absorbing the co2? I am planning on leaving it just over a month before I force carbonate..
Re: Loss of pressure in keg
When I've purged a filled keg (3 lots of 30psi) I just keep topping it back up to 30psi a few times per day over a couple of days until it holds that pressure at room temperature. The keg is then stored at room temperature. When it eventually goes into the kegorator the temperature drop means the pressure goes down. After it has cooled overnight to 12C I'll adjust the pressure for 10psi or so.
That's what has been working for me since I started with kegs in the Spring. There may be better/easier methods out there.

Okay will do, thank you. Will the loss in pressure have put it at risk of oxidation?

If there was the slightest bit of pressure above atmospheric it should be fine.Will333 wrote:Will the loss in pressure have put it at risk of oxidation?
