Aged brett Imperial Pale Ale is not carbonating

Post by Peatbogbrewer » Fri Feb 12, 2016 9:05 pm

Don't know if this is the best place for this question but here goes. I bottled an aged brett imperial pale ale just after xmas and it has a little fizz on opening but the beer is a flat as my arse. I think i significantly underestimated the amount of priming sugar for an aged ale. Will this eventually carbonate? Should i have added a pinch of yeast? Can i open add more sugar solution and pinch of yeast and recap? It went so well and i don't want to fall at the last hurdle!

I'm no brett expert, but I think what you need is time, not sugar.

Hi, this wiki looks like a good resource.

Apparently, re-yeasting is the way to go.

Now thats some crazy brew spreadsheet stuff! As mine is now bottled (330ml) its going to need some calculating to see how much yeast per bottle.
