conditioning - growler

Post by spanspoon » Wed Nov 09, 2016 10:37 am

i decided to sell my cornies as probably contrary to what most people think i find them a faff. i am going back to bottling, crazy maybe but i often quite prefer the taste when drinking from a bottle plus i am inclined to drink less!
i am thinking of getting a couple of stainless growlers which i can use to hold 2l of beer (for social gatherings). has anyone bottle conditioned using one?

Where are you based? I'm hoping to move to a corny setup.

I have two 2 litre stainless growlers that I decant into from a keg for later consumption or from bottles when the movement of the bottles will upset the sediment. I have not conditioned in them but would question whether they would hold carbonation for long.
Beer is my drug of choice.

I was thinking about the swing top type bottles. Seen em for a tenner each on ebay.

The brew builder growlers are quite good. I have conditioned in them, and they certainly hold the pressure
