9l corny or 10l growler keg

I’m going to do a few mini batch’s but would like to stick to force carbing in a keg. Does anyone have any preferences/pros and cons to the above options ? I’ve used sankes in the past but 10l ones aren’t readily available

The 9L kegs are easy to clean and suit me personally but I’ve never used a 12L growler so couldn’t offer and pros and cons apart from the kegs are easy to clean and bullet proof if you buy a new one.

also found some reconditioned 12l cornys on ebay which could be a better option than the 9s

The 9 L cornies are a lot cheaper than 10L growler kegs (consider spear head cost too).

You can also prime a 10L growler keg as it will seal without pressure. I am looking at setting mine up for real ale dispense (with a propane reg).

And a 9 L corny will fit inside a husky fridge with disconnnects (fairly cheap kegerator)

I have and under counter fridge already so not really an issue. Going to have a measure and see how many of each I can squeeze in

Apparently some of the chinese growlers aren't that well made or finished and of course in themselves are just plain stainless bottles, however they seal with little or no pressure. Whereas the small AEB cornies (such as from the malt miller) are very good quality and already come with the connections and dip tubes for gas and beer, however they're really designed to be used under reasonable pressure. Though new or good ones may manage without, in practice.

Personally of the two I'd go for the cornies unless i wanted low (or no) pressure dispensing, in which case the growlers. My actual choice is the 10L sankeys as the clear best of both worlds, but sadly these aren't now available from UK retailers, they might be on aliexpress perhaps.

I tried to find them on aliexpress as i have had the larger ones before and have couplers etc.

You can buy them from continental sources (manufacturers/home brew suppliers), I will see if I can dig out some links.
