Clive, what plans you got for the 10L kegs then? These really caught my eye, the 20L versions have been fantastic!

Me personally, they would be used for either smaller brews or when 20l isn't big enough, swapping beer samples in a 10l keg is also very doable, I keep 10l and swap the remainder.

Others I understand are using the 10l for yeast harvesting

You might also be able to fit 2 in an undercounter fridge, where it would be impossible to store a normal 20l.

My own keg is on loan at the moment to another member.

Whether a group buy or HB supplier takes the plunge remains to be seen, the easy option is for a HB supplier to start stocking them.

Yeast harvesting, didn't think of that. I like the idea of using these for smaller brews and having a bit of variety on tap. Keep my eye on these.

Just checking in on this one. Any one know if there are any 10L to be had an n the UK market? I want themfor my specialty brews that I cab age for ages, like big porters and belgians.

As an aside, I bought from Crusader direct a few years back and they would etch your details onto a nice little plate dpot welded onto the side of the keg. As they don't sell direct anymore you need to get from the HB shop, anyone know if they will still do that? On top of that I noticed the finish on the later kegs are not as nice as the ones 2 yrs ago. Am I being pedantic?

None of the UK homebrew suppliers seem to have taken them on board, I expect they want you to buy the growler style kegs and of course have to buy all new dispense / taps for them

The Growler style are a step backwards IMO.

That's disappointing. I agree with you, growlers don't work for me. I boughta growler filler attachment for my perlicks and I have yet to use it.

Has anyone emailed Greg at Brew UK about these as Crusader's supplier, NDL (?) do do them in a variety of smaller sizes now so they should be able to provide them if asked by their agent for the home brew world?

I have just messaged Greg. I have been thinking of buying a couple from China but the postage is pretty uneconomical on a small order.

Cool, it might also mean better finished ones if he does go for it.

I notice NDLs UK warehouse no is the same number as on crusaders site though the address is definitely different. I bought 12 firkins from crusader recently and the guy on the phone said there is no minimum order despite the website saying its 25.
