They're in the TO DO list, promise.....

Thing is, I have another larder fridge to convert first so I can have a dedicated lager ferment/lagering setup... then I have to do the inaugral run of my new improved AG kit... then there's the 80l mash tun to complete so I can start making my belgians (and now I have the elusive WLP885... ultimately a SAMICHLAUS brew - not this year tho as I need to do a Hooligans Lager clone to get enough yeast to pitch one sensibly - and I wont get that done by Dec 6th :( now )

THEN I can think about the kegs and the Keezer to keep them in..... and the world supply of S Type sankeys (at a resonable price at least) has evaporated.....

Im a busy boy ;)

The SAMICHLAUS is the ultimate nuclear sanction in Lager making - its the Xmas doppelbock from hell, and weighs in at around 14% abv.

I discovered it while I was looking into the history and use of the correct S-187 / WLP885 yeast to use in my Hurlimanns lager clone - which is good to 14% - so its my ultimate goal to make one of these. History dictates that it can only be brewed on St Nicholas's day (Dec 6th) and needs, like an RIS, to be aged for a minimum of 11 months before drinking.

Its kind of a mountain/"because it's there" situation

Plus... I have a very cool picture of a shotgun-weilding santa (its a long story..) posed like this....

for the bottle label  .... and you just know its going to be called... "BAD SANTA"

Well, it's only Nov 18, what are you waiting for? I've never , ever heard of this, but it sounds great - keep the faith, and spread the knowledge. Maybe a new thread?

I certainly will, but I wont have time to brew the hurli clone to get the big one ready by Dec 6th so its just a bit too late this year - and I wanna do it properly

I shall make sure I time it correctly for next year..... and Xmas 2015 could be very merry indeed !

Seems fine should have bought more, learning to balance pressure on the gas board, but the polykeg has worked well. I
have force carbed beer, "Archie's Pride" that had been in a wilko cheapo plastic barrel.

As for bugs to lurk - depends on how clean your equipment is. I dont like using syphons that much.
Better-bottle instructions on how to fit here.

Shame the racking arms are hard to get and pricey in UK.

There was a UK seller recently for them - damned if I can find them now though.
Hair of the dog, bacon, butty.
Hops, cider pips & hello.

There was (an old) Google link for them at the Hop Shop, but racking arm now longer listed in their online shop.

Racking arm reminded me of a bent tank connector and wondered if one of these (plus tap) could be used

Probably PVC rather than poly and not food-safe though. Shame

Im having a dim moment (decade).. What use is a racking arm? only obviouse benefit to me is not capturing a didy amount of sediment in a normal tap outlet which cld be achieved with a static down pointing feed?
ist update for months n months..
Fermnting: not a lot..
Conditioning: nowt
Maturing: Challenger smash, and a kit lager
Drinking: dry one minikeg left in the store
Coming Soon Lots planned for the near future nowt for the immediate :(
