I put starsan solution in that, you invert the bottle and push the bottle down on the spout and it sprays the no rinse solution into the bottle. You then place the bottle onto the waiting bottle tree and hey presto its done! Allow to all drip dry and get on with your bottling. Could not be easier.
I read somewhere (maybe on here) it is not untoward to put bottles in dish washer at max wich is 65 deg C, is this with a wash tablet too?
Thanks
I pour some thin bleach into the bottom of the dishwasher and the soap dispenser but I wouldn't use a tablet. It must be thin as the thick bleach contains surfactants (I think).
The heat would probably do it alone but I add the bleach as an added safety measure.
Better safe than sorry, ill add a little bleach too. When you say thin bleach (domestos?) what is that exactly and how much?
Thanks

Domestos is not thin bleach, it is thick and will stick to stuff, that's it's job, thin bleach is the cheap usually supermarkets own brand stuff, about 50p for a couple of litres, that's what you want to be using

I normally wash the bottles then rinse then use ritchies andrinse again, and then put in the dishwasher with nothing on a strong option. Do I not need to bother with the Ritchies?

Good pictures.... did you have to sanitise the jug that you boiled the priming solution in?

I normally sanitise the jug and bottle tree first so they're ready for action. Either a dunk in the bleach solution or a spray of iodophor solution for the tree.
Next Up : Something for the summer

Back to the use of dishwashers - are you sure a dishwasher will get water up inside the bottles to the bases? Do you load the washer bottles up or bottles down?

What is the bottling stick made of and the diameter to fit in the tap ? I am unsure also about the needle valve. I have just bought a bottle tree which is great, but without using your "bottle stick", I am spilling beer as I fill the bottles. Any help would be great.
Fermenting 1: Browning's Porter

Thanks Chris -x1, I have bought a Youngs little bottler complete. It comes with a lever tap which you screw into your fermenter. I had trouble trying to get the right size tubes for my drum tap. It works a dream.

Great post as I have just done my first lot of bottling and was wondering how to improve it!
Where did you get the stick from for bottling? Seems like a very good way of filling straight from FV.
