PET Bottles. Beer Shelf Life

Post by floydmeddler » Sat Apr 26, 2014 5:30 pm

Howdy all,

I brewed a big bad stout in Dec and bottled in 2L PET bottles. I have one bottle left but would like to keep it til Xmas. I've read that PET is permeable to oxygen. Will my beer last that long in there? I plan to store it in a dark attic purely so that I'll keep my mits off it.

Cheers

I've had beer for a year in the coopers bottles. It was fine.

I recently had some beers that had been bottled in 1l pet for about 4 years and the beer was fine. Some were flat as the bottles can loose pressure. But the beer was not off.
