Priming or just CO2?

Post by gibbiem » Thu May 08, 2014 2:51 pm

Just got some of these http://www.wilko.com/homebrew-accessori ... vt/0022562 along with the injector. Do I need to prime my keg with sugar also? When and how many of these would I need for a 5 gallon ipa? Cheers

Yes, definitely prime your keg with sugar.

Those CO2 injectors will replace dispensed beer with fresh CO2, but that's all - you can't use them to carbonate beer in a plastic keg.

I don't know how many you'll need, but if you have any leaks you'll go through a lot of them!

Cheers Jim. Will give it a go and see what it's like. Might be brewing a keg for a party which will probably get drunk on the night anyway
