Pegas Novotap

Post by och29 » Wed May 21, 2014 5:22 pm

There have been a lot of discussion about different ways to fill bottles from kegs and there are plenty of solutions that are cheap and work very well. However if you want to splash out on something 'professional' then this is pretty high up on the shiney scale. I haven't put it together and it might be a little while before I do but here's a taster.

I bought it from the UK distributor who were very helpful... I was a little dubious at first as they don't have a proper website yet but in the end I got the thing hand delivered by the boss, Kevin (but I think that's just a fortunate coincidence) and it was a very professional sale. First impressions are excellent, there's a lot of weight to this thing (1.75kg) and all the moving parts have a very definite action. Hopefully I'll be able to give it a test run soon!

You might need to make a washer to get the thing to work correctly ;)

Yes, had a read of the Aussie forums where they started using it first and that's what they're doing. Long term I plan to attach it to a board, remove the bottle lifter and make a lifting device of my own that will push up from beneath.

What size tube did you use? 3/8 plus heat and force?

Yep 3/8 in a cup of boiling water and brute force will provide a good joint.

BTW the cheap Chinese knock offs were made to work (don't know if the thread on here was updated?) , + Orlando bought the cheaper official plastic version of the CPF which also works.

If you need details of the washer I made let me know.

Cheers

Thanks. Details of the washer would be a great starting point.

A stainless steel washer with an internal hole diameter of 25mm, washer thickness 3mm.

Draw around the profile and then file away.

I needed to take some beer to a family do so I decided to pick up some PET bottles and give the filler a go... worked very well and so I decided to film the second bottle I filled. Even though I didn't have the technique down I managed to do this one handed. Apologies for covering the mic for the middle part!

It took a few days for them to get back to me. Assuming a reply hasn't gone to your spam folder just send them another email. I guess they're just a bit busy.

I must admit that I am quite tempted by one of these but can they be made to work with a conventional glass bottle? Is that what your washer adapter was for?

I would highly recommend going direct as it will cost you a lot less.
