Beer line and sankey kegs

Post by simpleton » Wed Jul 09, 2014 10:17 am

Morning all

This is no doubt the first of a long line of stupid questions I will no doubt be asking !

I recently got some polykegs from here, and also a couple of stype couplers with the JG fittings. Next is some beer and co2 line.

But one thing that puzzles me, does the beer line need some sort of barb or attachment to clip to the JG fitting on the sankey coupler? Or does it just seal by pushing the line in? Seems like it wouldn't seal.

Also, is 3/8ths line as sold on malt miller suitable for this?

Sorry if these questions are daft, the amount of JG fittings is mind boggling and its hard to know how it all fits together until I've seen it in practice :)

Thanks,
Si

I'm pretty sure your couplers will be 3/8" so yes that beer line will be ok. Yes they are just push fit. Just make sure you line is pushed 'home' (sometimes they go a bit further after you think they are done) and they will seal.
