Eh up.
Ive got a few KK top taps that I done really use any more and wondered if I could convert them to feed a beer engine..I bought 3 beer engines a while ago thinking that I could just attach them to a corny but not had a lot of success with that one..Fob everywhere or just piddling out of the spout...far too much pressure
Bit of fiddling around has swapped the taps for a simple on off tap, bit of fiddling with washers Jubilie clips and so on has now got them attached...
Why didn't I think of this sooner. Proper cellared beer, squirt of C02 then loosen the top...dispence...occasional squirt of C02 to keep a blanket over the top of beer... when done. turn tap off, undo jubilee clip and Bobs your mothers brother...
Or am I missing sommat??

With the corny did you have a check valve? With low pressure and a check valve, the beer engine should work fine.

Re: King Keg top tap to Beer engine
Jim uses a BE with a pressure keg. He just modified the lid to accommodate disconnects so he can swap between full pressure and a cask breather for serving. There's a thread with pictures here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it.
EDIT: There ya go. Mind you, I don't think the cask breather would work with a top tap KK as it needs positive pressure in order to work. Never did like those things.
